M.D. - Physician
Dr. Ugalde comes from a diverse background with dual citizenship in Costa Rica and the United States. As a young boy, he used to accompany his mother, a nurse, on missions to Nicaraguan refugee camps during the Nicaraguan war. It was there were he was first exposed to medicine and how it can positively affect the lives of others. He was instantly hooked. He did his undergraduate work in Community Health at the University of Utah and completed his medical degree at the Universidad Internacional de las Americas in 2002.
Dr. Ugalde is a highly talented and experienced physician. He has served as a volunteer medical doctor in the same area where he once was first exposed to medicine as a boy. He has taught community medicine in the field to prospective medical students from top universities in the US and Canada. He has over nine years of experience in hospital, clinical and occupational health settings, including acute and primary care. His fluency in both English and Spanish and his personal experiences living in the USA and Costa Rica, enables him to easy build close rapport with all his English and Spanish speaking patients.
